Stimulus Bill - Affects on our Youth and Schools

When the current economy and its impact became foremost in everyone’s mind, Teen Expo Maryland realized that teens and their families are a big segment of our society who will be directly affected. A call to the Governor’s office was needed to find someone who could address these issues at the Teen Expo. We’re pleased to announce that Eric Brenner, Director of the Governor’s Grants Office, will be addressing some of these issues as he presents a workshop at our show on April 11, 2009.
Mr. Brenner will speak to all of us about the recently signed Stimulus Bill and its direct monetary implications on our state’s youth job training and summer youth programs. As well he will address how educational monies set aside in this bill will affect our school systems. He’ll help us to better understand in which areas these funds will be used and at what levels these funds will be distributed (state, city, county).
